The race:
The Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic is a single-day road race held in the Netherlands, generally in August. It was scheduled to be run in May of 2020, but the Coronovirus pandemic forced the organizers to cancel the race.
At its inception in 1985 it was called Veenendaal-Veenendaal because the race began and ended in the Dutch city of Veenendaal. The race was named "The Dutch Food Valley Classic" from 2007 through 2013. In 2014 it got a new name, "Arnhem-Veenendaal Classic", and started in the Dutch city of Arnhem.
In 2017 it again became Veenendaal-Veenendaal
In 2005 the UCI gave the race an "HC" ranking, but in 2011 the race was re-classified to "1.1".
