Here’s the post from the team:
Despite already having a contract in place for 2023, López and Trek-Segafredo have committed to an additional two more years together. The decision to entrust the next three years of his professional career to the Team was an easy one for the 25-year-old.
“Since I first joined Trek-Segafredo as a stagiaire in 2019, I have grown so much as person and as a rider,” said López. “I feel like the environment the Team has created has been perfect for me and my journey and it continues to be the place where I want to be. It really feels like I have found myself at home here. People always say it, but I really believe it’s true that this team is like my family.”
In addition to the Trek-Segafredo family, Juanpe counts himself as a fierce fan of Real Betis football club, which gave him an idea when it came to announcing his news.

“By extending my contract early, Luca and the Team are really showing that they trust me and that they believe in me the way I believe in myself,” continued López. “That is a super special feeling and I really want to be able to show that it was worth it over the next three years now.”
The young Spaniard rose to prominence at the 2022 Giro d’Italia with his ten-day stint in the Maglia Rosa but remains hungry for more with a first professional victory still eluding him.
“While the Giro d’Italia was, of course, very special for me this year, the Vuelta didn’t go how I expected, or wanted, on a personal performance level,” explained López. “However, I really learned so much at both races and for different reasons both have only motivated me more to keep chasing that elusive victory. I really want to be able to show the team that their faith in me is justified and that I can also be a winner.”
Trek-Segafredo General Manager Luca Guercilena believes that López deserves to have the backing of the Team after consistently showing his potential over the last two years.
“Juanpe is a talented young rider who I believe has earned our trust and commitment since joining us as a stagiaire around three years ago,” said Guercilena. “We saw this year that he is making steps forward and he continues to be very willing to learn from the more experienced riders on the Team.
“Of course, most notably in 2022, he wore the Maglia Rosa for ten days, finished 10th overall and took home the best young rider’s jersey at the Giro d’Italia. This performance really cemented what we, as a team, had been discussing already – that we wanted to invest further in his career and extend his existing contract early. We really believe that Juanpe is capable of fulfilling the potential we see in him, and I am confident that it won’t be long until we see him secure that first win.”
Team Jumbo-Visma posted this farewell to Eenkhoorn
After five years at Team Jumbo-Visma, Pascal Eenkhoorn continues his career at Lotto-Dstny. Together we look back on the day he conquered the Dutch champion jersey.
Pascal Eenkhoorn wins stage four of the 2020 Coppi-Bartali race.
“It was really fantastic”, Eenkhoorn says with a smile. “It is a challenging race to win with Team Jumbo-Visma. Since we are the biggest team, everyone has high expectations for us. It’s cool because we managed to win again after winning with Timo Roosen a year earlier.”
Before the race, the media hailed Eenkhoorn as the clear favourite. The cyclist claimed that wasn’t a problem for him. “Anyone who knows me is aware of the fact that I’m not easily impressed. Additionally, I didn’t feel under additional stress or like I was the leader of our team. I knew that the course suited me very well. In the end, it just all worked out perfectly.”
Eenkhoorn and Daan Hoole were in the lead in the final kilometres. They knew they would determine who would leave with the coveted jersey. “On the way, I already felt that I was stronger. He made me do longer turns. I knew I would win as I went up the Col du VAM for the final time and went straight over it.”
The rest is history. Eenkoorn’s red-white-blue jersey was hung around his shoulders as the national anthem sounded for him. “I had the jersey and the medal framed, and they will have a very nice place in my house. The Dutch championship is the biggest win of my career so far. I will never forget this”, the 27-year-old rider said.
“I had a good time with the team. At training camps and in multi-day races, it was always a lot of fun, in addition to performing. Team Jumbo-Visma really is a family team. I reflect on a very nice period”, Eenkhoorn concludes.
Bicycle Retailer & Industry News posted this important notice:
After issuing "stop-ride" notices in August and September to some e-bike owners, Rad Power Bikes is now working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission to conduct a recall on what appears to be the same issue. Almost 30,000 bikes are involved in the recall.
The recall is being conducted because on RadWagon 4 Electric Cargo Bikes, the rim strip can be misaligned, causing the tube to pop and damage the tire. Additionally, on bikes with tires that have a ribbed sidewall, the tires can unexpectedly go flat, risking serious injuries from loss of control and/or crash.
The CPSC said 29,300 bikes are involved.
The recall involves the RadWagon 4, which was sold in black, white and orange frame colors. The name “RADWAGON” is printed on the side of the toptube and “RAD POWER BIKES” is printed on the lower downtube. The recall also includes spare RadWagon 4 tires sold separately under the product name Rad Power Bikes by VEE Tire Co. The affected tires measure 22 inches by 3 inches.
Consumers are being told to immediately stop using the recalled E-Bikes and contact Rad Power Bikes to schedule a free repair to replace both tires and rim strips. Rad Power Bikes is contacting all known purchasers directly.
The firm has received 137 reports of tires blowing out, deflating and separating from the sidewalls. There were eight injuries reported, including five reports of road rash, cuts and/or bruises and one report of a broken wrist and one report of a broken arm.
