HEMA to co-sponsor Jumbo-Visma for four years

The team sent me this release:

The co-sponsorship provides Team Jumbo-Visma with the opportunity to achieve further growth. On the other hand, the partnership contributes to the development of HEMA’s brand strategy. In origin, HEMA is a Dutch chain of department stores with more than 750 branches in eleven countries.

“We are very happy with our new co-sponsor”, says Richard Plugge, director of the skating and cycling team Team Jumbo-Visma. “Speed skating and cycling are leading sports in the Netherlands. Just like us, HEMA is very Dutch, with international branches and visibility. The long-term contracts of our other sponsors are very attractive. We are a stable factor with which a large and renowned company like HEMA likes to identify.”

On 20 December, the two cycling teams of Team Jumbo-Visma will be presented at the headquarters of HEMA in Amsterdam. That presentation will be live broadcasted from 1 PM on Eurosport 1 BeNeLux and the Eurosport Player.

Vuelta a España: David De La Cruz, Davide Formolo, Jasper Philipsen.

Joxean Matxin, Team Manager: “We think we have succeeded in designing a balanced season to achieve our objectives, given the resources we have on our team. The aim is to be competitive in the General classifications of the big stage races, as well as in the sprint finishes.

For the Giro we will have the option of Kristoff, who has been keen to race the Giro for some time. Formolo will be the leader for the General, while Ulissi will go in search of stages.

At the Tour de France we will go with Pogačar, who will race without any pressure, taking the race day by day. Aru will focus more on the GC and Gaviria will have his chances in the sprint.

Finally, Formolo will ride alongside De la Cruz at the Vuelta, while the young Belgian sprinter Philipsen will also debut in Spain for his second Grand Tour”.
