The race:

The UAE Tour is a men's stage race that is held in the United Arab Emirates and is part of the UCI Asia Tour.

2019 was the race's first edition.

The UAE Tour is organized by RCS Sport, which is best known for running the Giro d'Italia.

From 2015 through 2018 RCS Sport had organized the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Tours. In 2019 RCS combined the two to expand the race to seven stages.

The final two stages of the 2020 edition were cancelled because the Coronavirus had infected two Italian team staff memebers.
