The race:
The GP Canton Aargau (in German "Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau") is a single-day race held in June in the Swiss Canton of Aargau in northern Switzerland.
The first edition was held in 1964 and was won by Belgian racer Jan Lauwers.
Only Alexander Kristoff has won the GP Canton Argau more than twice (2015, 2018, 2019). The two-time winners are Adri Van der Poel, Pascal Richard and Michael Albasini.
The race consists of 15 laps around the city of Gippingen.
The UCI has toyed with the race's ranking, rating it HC from 2005 to 2010 and then downgrading it to 1.1 in 2011. As of 2014 it's back to being an HC race. Oh, and in 2021 is was re-ranked to 1.1
