Weather: The day was overcast, cool, windy and humid. The course was muddy from rain that had fallen during the days before the race.
The Race:
The 2001 Paris-Roubaix was 254.5 km long and raced at an average speed of 37.703 km/hr
There were 190 starters and 55 classified finishers.
The Domo-Farm Frites team dominated the race, first by sending Wilfried Peeters up the road with 90 kilometers remaining. When he was caught with just 14 kilometers to go, other Domo riders started attacking and four kilometers later Servais Knaven was well and truly gone.
Domo-Farm Frites took the top three places and top four out of five.
Servais Knaven wins.
