RideLondon-Surrey Classic (World Tour), U.K.
Winners, podium, distances, average speed
The RideLondon-Surrey Classic (currently known as the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic) grew out of the organizing efforts of the 2012 London Olympics. The first edition, called the London-Surrey Cycle Classic was a rehearsal for the 2012 Olympic road race. National, British and continental teams competed that year.
It starts and finishes in London and is routed through the Surrey Hills.
The race is part of a London August two-day cycling festival, a legacy of the 2012 London Olympics.
In 2012, the Olympic year, the event was not held.
In 2013 the event was (and continues to be) sponsored by Prudential and was given a 1.1 ranking by the UCI and made part of the UCI Europe Tour.
The 2014 event was promoted to an HC ranking and in 2017 it became a World Tour race.
