Olympics 50 Craziest Stories

Les Woodland's book The Olympics' 50 Craziest Stories: A Five Ring Circus is available as an audiobook here. For the print and Kindle eBook versions, just click on the Amazon link on the right.

The Race:

The 1991 Paris-Roubaix was 266.5 km long and raced at an average speed of 37.332 km/hr.

There were 196 starters and 96 classified finishers.

At the Carrefour de l'Arbre sector of cobbles, with about 16 kilometers to go, there were five riders in the front group.

At this point Marc Madiot launched his attack, just as he had in 1985 and with the same successful outcome.

Madiot had just won his second Paris-Roubaix.
