The race:
The 1923 Paris-Roubaix was 270 km long and raced at an average speed of 30.10 km/hr.
There were 225 starters and 88 classified finishers.
The racers enjoyed beautiful weather that first day of April, long ago.
Twenty-three riders finished together and at the time, Swiss rider Heiri Suter had about the fastest sprint in the business. Marcel Huot led out the final rush for the line, but Suter easily went by everyone.
Suter was the first rider to win The Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix in the same year.
I don't have any time splits. Thirteen riders were awarded 7th place.
