The race:

The Tour of Norway is currently (2015) a five-stage race run in May, though the 2023 edition was just a prologue and three stages.

During its short life the race's status has been continually upgraded by the UCI.

In 2011, it started as a 2.2 ranked competition.

It was elevated to 2.1 in 2012 and in 2014 the Tour of Norway was given "HC" status.

In 2021 the race was elevated to 2.Pro.

In 2019 the Tour des Fjords merged with the Tour of Norway to make a single race.
