Here’s the team’s announcement:
Team Jayco AlUla is excited to announce the signing of young climber Finlay Pickering on a two-year contract, seeing him on the Australian squad through 2027.
At 22, the British rider has already spent two seasons racing and developing at WorldTour level and has shown that he is a rider with plenty of promise.
Pickering is a former junior national time trial champion and won the overall classification at the 2022 Tour Alsace. This season saw Pickering claim victory in the mountains classification at the Tour of the Alps, and following a surprise last-minute call-up, he made a strong Grand Tour debut at the Vuelta a España.

The GreenEDGE Cycling management believe that Pickering is a talented climber, and with the support of the Team Jayco AlUla staff, can develop further as a rider.
Finlay Pickering:
“I really look forward to riding with new teammates and working with well-respected staff. I am also very excited to swing my leg over a Giant again! I’ve learned a lot about being in the WorldTour over the last two years, and now moving to Team Jayco AlUla, I can hopefully develop into being an even better bike rider.”
Gene Bates – Team Jayco AlUla Sporting Manager:
“We have been following Finlay’s progression as a rider keenly, and it is fantastic to have him joining the team next season. In his two years at WorldTour level, he has already shown himself to be a very promising climber. His performance at the Tour of the Alps showed his strengths in the mountains and we believe he can fit in well with our climbing group, where he can provide valuable support to the team’s leaders as well as developing himself as a rider.”
