Mads Würtz Schmidt finishes his gold medal-winning ride
The race: This was a day to go out early and get the ride done. Later riders were not only hammered by stiff breezes, but they also had to contend with rain. Winner Mads Schmidt was one such lucky rider who used his substantial strength and good fortune to get an early start to power his way to a world championship.
