Linda Villumsen

Linda Villumsen riding to a gold medal

The race: Linda Villumsen, born Danish, became a New Zealand citizen in 2009 and has been racing as a Kiwi since 2010. New Zealand should be very happy about her change of nationality because today she became the Elite Women's World Time Trial Champion.

It didn't come easily to Villumsen. Over the years she's racked up a 10th, a 9th, two 3rds and two second places in the world time trial championships. Today she scored, finally landing that deeply coveted first place.
