USA Pro Cycling Challenge (HC), USA
Winners, podium, distance, average speed
The USA Pro Cycling Challenge is a professional stage race held in August in Colorado. Colorado was the site of one of the U.S. first truly important stage races of the modern era, the Coors Classic, run from 1980 to 1988.
The first edition was held in 2011 and was sponsored by by Quiznos, and in fact was originally named the "Quiznos Pro Challenge".
Originally classified as a 2.1 level race by the UCI, it was upgraded to HC in 2012 and is part of the UCI America Tour. The only American races given HC status are the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, The Tour of Utah and the Tour of California.
The 2013 edition had seven stages, of which Peter Sagan won four.
After the cancellation of the 2016 edition, the organizers were unable to find new sponsors and the race was folded.
In 2017 a new Colorado race was run, the "Colorado Classic".
