Weather at the finish city of Roquetas de Mar at 1:50 PM, local time: 17C (62F), partly cloudy, with the wind from the northeast at 35 km/hr (22 mph). There is just a 1% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from third-place Jordi Meeus' Team Bora-hansgrohe.

The first half of the 189 km long race was hilly, but this wasn't to cause the sprinters much difficulty and so a fast finish was expected in Roquetas del Mar. The peloton let a trio go clear, but they were caught again relatively early in the race.

On the course, the field had to reckon with relatively strong winds, which threatened to split the peloton. With 20 km remaining, Nils Politt and Jordi Meeus set a fast tempo and the peloton split into several groups. After the race came back together, BORA - hansgrohe was again active at the front of the field and brought Jordi to the finishing straight, where he ultimately took third place behind Matteo Moschetti and Arnaud De Lie

"It was a very hectic finale with all the roundabouts and the headwind, but my teammates did a great job to put me in a good position. My sprint was good, but when I had to accelerate I just didn't have enough power. Probably the effort of yesterday's race affected me a bit there. But overall it's a pretty good result and I'm happy with my performance here." - Jordi Meeus

"After his third place yesterday, Jordi had another great result today against fresh rivals in the sprint. To beat riders like Kristoff is a very good performance. The whole team also put in a strong showing, and in the crosswinds we took the initiative to decimate the peloton. It's really nice for Jordi and the team to have had such a successful weekend here in Spain." - Torsten Schmidt, Sports Director
