Team INEOS Grenadiers renews agreement with Science in Sport

Here’s the team’s update:

The world leader in endurance nutrition, SiS’s team of embedded practitioners and world-class scientists first began working with the INEOS Grenadiers in 2015, when they were formerly known as Team Sky – a partnership which to date has achieved eight Grand Tour victories, including four Tour de France titles.

Since its inception, the partnership has been underpinned by a shared commitment and drive to deliver the best endurance nutrition products and service that provides an edge on rival teams.

For a number of years, SiS has embedded two nutritionists within the team year-round, as well as providing a backdrop of expertise from the World-Class in-house Science team led by Professor James Morton. This infrastructure allows SiS to respond to and meet the performance challenges of some of the world's best athletes and delivers turnkey solutions for INEOS Grenadiers Cycling Team.

As part of the new agreement, SiS has committed to a three-year PhD study at Liverpool John Moores University. The project will be dedicated to research into the specific performance challenges of INEOS Grenadiers, including a variety of focuses distinct to the needs of endurance cyclists. In addition, SiS will continue to provide bespoke products, designed to meet the complex and varying needs of individual riders; already demonstrated via the development of products within the SiS LAB Range.

Speaking on the renewal of the partnership, Stephen Moon, CEO of Science in Sport PLC, said: “At the core of Science in Sport is a philosophy of gaining deep elite insight, and this leading to the development of products to meet the needs of world-class athletes. Our longstanding relationship with INEOS Grenadiers has been the flagship of this approach. We have contributed to many of the great performances by INEOS Grenadiers over the years, and the partnership has led to the introduction of several products which our customers now use on a daily basis.

"I am delighted to see our partnership with the most successful team in World Tour cycling history renewed for another three years. The unparalleled Science in Sport model of embedding expertise in partner teams, together with the INEOS Grenadiers relentless drive to improve every detail of their performance, creates a perfect environment to deliver the best endurance nutrition products in the world.”

Rod Ellingworth, Deputy Team Principal of INEOS Grenadiers, said:
“The team’s long-standing partnership with SiS has been instrumental in delivering our riders the most scientifically advanced nutrition solutions in the sport. Our integrated, single team approach means we can deliver individualised products to specific bike riders quickly - while simultaneously pursuing longer term strategic R&D projects.

“In Stephen, James and the team at SiS we know the passion they have for our organisation and the level of care and attention to detail that goes into delivering the very best for our athletes.

“The SiS products are second to none, but it’s the pursuit of genuinely scientific, performance focused solutions that really distinguishes this partnership - which we’re delighted to extend for another three seasons.”

As INEOS Grenadiers continue to push boundaries in the sport, SiS’s committed experts will work more closely with the team than ever before, ensuring innovation remains a driving force in the team’s future successes, including the approaching Tour de France.

Soudal Quick-Step partners with Dyka for Tour de France

Here’s the team’s news:

The manufacturer and distributor of plastic pipe systems shines on the team’s kit.

DYKA replaces Latexco on the Tour de France jersey of the Soudal Quick-Step Team. DYKA is part of DYKA Group, a business unit of Tessenderlo Group. As Latexco was acquired at the end of 2022 by Tessenderlo Group’s CEO Luc Tack, the decision was taken to put DYKA in the spotlight for this year’s Tour de France. DYKA is a manufacturer and distributor of plastic pipe systems across Europe.

Dyka is on the riders' upper chest, above the red band.

“This partnership with Soudal Quick-Step enables us to further build brand visibility within Europe with a strong focus on the French, Belgian, and Dutch markets. DYKA has grown substantially in the French market in the past few years and has become the number one player in plastic pipe systems in France, a position we want to strengthen in the coming years,” explains Ludo Secretin, VP Sales & Marketing for DYKA Group. “This partnership is a great way to support our ambitions in continuing to create Nature’s Network: DYKA transports water, air, and other energy resources in an efficient and sustainable way and only to exactly where these resources need to be!”

CEO Patrick Lefevere is delighted to partner up with DYKA: “The Tour de France is just around the corner, we are all looking forward to being part of it again and it’s great we have DYKA on board with us during our French journey. Hopefully we can shine in this jersey and enjoy some successes in the next couple of weeks.”

Also two-time World Champion Julian Alaphilippe, who featured as a model for the new jersey, had some nice words: “I’m looking forward to participating in the Tour de France, after last year’s absence. As a Frenchman it’s really special to be part of the biggest cycling race in the world. The shoot with our new jersey was fun, and it was a pleasure meeting some of the people of DYKA.”
