Weather at the finish city of Silkeborg at 2:15 PM, local time: 21C (69F), fair, with the wind from the west-northwest at 18 km/hr (11 mph). No rain is forecast.

The race: This stage is Jakob Fuglsang's final professional race. In this race he is on the PostNord National Team (Denmark).

Johan Price-Pettersen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) did not start.

Lidl-Trek capped off a perfect week in Denmark with Mads Pedersen winning the final stage in Silkeborg, securing both his third stage win and the overall victory. The Danish champion was joined on the podium by teammate Jakob Söderqvist, who rose from fourth to second in the general classification after a bold late attack with Pedersen and Søren Kragh Andersen.

The decisive move came on the final circuits in Silkeborg when the trio broke clear with a few others, forcing a race-winning split. Pedersen powered to victory on the line, while Söderqvist crossed in third. The young Swede gained both time bonuses and a gap over the peloton, catapulting himself up to second overall. Having already won the Stage 3 time trial, he also secured the best young rider’s jersey.

Lidl-Trek’s successful week was further underlined as the Team claimed the Lidl-sponsored best team competition, the perfect way to recognize a week-long complete team performance as each rider was celebrated on stage.

“I will still blame Skjelly [Mattias Skjelmose] for this one,” said Mads Pedersen at the finish. “He went really fast into the climb and, even if he says it wasn’t him, he made the split and then after that we kind of had to keep it going. Kim was on the radio saying ‘ok boys, now you’re into it, so now it’s up to you to finish it as well’. But with Jakob and Søren there also, this was an ideal situation for us and, yeah, this pure racing was really nice.”

Reflecting on the week, Pedersen added: “It was pretty hard, but with the result, it was nice for sure. And it’s super nice to get Jakob up on the podium as well. Maybe Søren also gets onto the podium or he’s really close. That would have been nice to be one, two and three, but let’s say it like this: now Jakob steps up into the big scene where he belongs and, yeah, what a race this Tour of Denmark has been for us.”

The Danish crowds once again turned out in huge numbers for the finale, something that was not lost on Pedersen. “We can see cycling is growing in Denmark and it’s so nice to see all these people and this atmosphere. Not only today, but in general the whole week. Thanks to everyone in Denmark who came out on the roads to cheer on us.”

“It’s a dream,” said second-placed Jakob Söderqvist. “I think expectations could never be higher and we didn’t spend too much time painting them on the wall before the stage, we just said ‘whatever happens, happens’ and maybe we can make something good out of it. It wasn’t a clear plan, it was just being ready to improvise, and I don’t think it could have gone any better. It was just dream racing in the last half an hour. It was the perfect way to do it and I enjoyed it so much. This is something I will take a step back from now in the coming days and just enjoy. I think I am on a good path and I’m just trying to enjoy the journey I am on now and not stress too much about it.”

Weather at the finish city of Vejle at 2:20 PM, Local time: 24C (76F), partly cloudy, with the wind from the west at 27 km/hr (17 mph). There is just a 1% chance of rain.

The race: Magnus Bak Klaris (Airtox-Carl Ras) & Tore Troelsen (Team ColoQuick) did not start. Early in the stage Louis Sutton (Euskaltel-Euskadi) abandoned.

Here's the report from eighth-place Dylan van Baarle's Team Visma | Lease a Bike:

Dylan van Baarle crossed the line in eighth place in the queen stage of the Tour of Denmark. The Dutchman from Team Visma | Lease a Bike spent a long time in an elite chase group behind an unleashed Mads Pedersen, who soloed to the finish.

With nearly two thousand metres of climbing, the queen stage was on the agenda for day four of the Danish stage race. Van Baarle saw teammate Axel Zingle try several times, but the Frenchman also failed to close the gap to the solo leader Pedersen.

In the final phase, Van Baarle fought his way to eighth place, meaning the Dutchman heads into the final day sitting tenth in the general classification.

“It was a very tough race”, Van Baarle admitted afterwards. “Pedersen was on another level today. As a team, we tried to close the gap, but unfortunately we couldn’t. After that, the focus shifted to the minor placings, and I tried to get a good sprint in. Overall, I can say it was a reasonably good day for me personally. As a team, of course, we had hoped for a bit more.”

Weather at the race city of Kerteminde at 2:15 PM, local time: 26C (78)F, cloudy, with the wind from the southeast at 16 km/hr (10 mph). No rain is forecast.

The race: Here's the report from second-place Alec Segaert's Team Lotto.

Just over 5 seconds: that was all that separated Alec Segaert from victory today in the Tour of Denmark’s time trial. He claimed an impressive second place and also moved up to fifth in the general classification. “I finally have that good feeling back on the time trial bike.”

The short 14-kilometer time trial in Kerteminde had, of course, been highlighted in bright marker for Alec Segaert. After- for him- disappointing results in the Belgian Championships time trial and the Baloise Belgium Tour, Segaert was determined to deliver a strong result this time. “And that’s what happened today,” he reflected with satisfaction. “Finally a good feeling again on the time trial bike. Over the past winter I had some issues with my position, and perhaps I didn’t spend enough hours on the TT bike. During the altitude training camp I just completed in recent weeks, I deliberately put in extra kilometers on it. This time, with success.”

Today, Segaert finished second, just over five seconds behind winner Jakob Söderqvist. “He started right after me. For a moment I was in first place, but I never got the chance to sit in the hot seat (laughs). Still, Mads Pedersen finished behind me, Johan Price-Pejtersen, Soren Waerenskjold… I’m listed among those names, and I’m happy about that. I needed this mentally.”

With his strong time trial, Segaert now climbs to fifth in the general classification. “With a good day tomorrow- a long and tough stage, by the way- I might be able to pass a few more guys, hopefully. I’m also in second place in the youth classification. We’ll do everything we can to move up and secure a nice overall result here.”

Weather at the finish city of Gladsaxe at 2:10 PM, local time: 26C (79F), sunny, with the wind from the east at 11 km/hr (7 mph). No rain is forecast.

The race: Here's the report from second-place Steffen De Schuyteneer's Team Lotto.

Steffen De Schuyteneer took a strong second place in the second stage of the Tour of Denmark. In the sprint, De Schuyteneer was only beaten by Søren Wærenskjold. "I’m up there among big names, thanks to perfect teamwork."
“It was a good day,” said a happy De Schuyteneer (20). The short, flat 105 km stage from Rødovre to Gladsaxe was animated by a break of seven riders. “Behind them, Baptiste (Veistroffer) controlled the race the whole day—he was really strong. Jonas (Gregaard) also did a lot of work to keep everything in check.”

As expected, stage two ended in a sprint. “The whole team put me in the perfect position. Everyone did their job perfectly, with a perfect lead-out from Josh (Giddings) at the end. Two Uno-X Mobility riders launched the sprint. I was on Wærenskjold’s wheel but couldn’t come around him. I think I still need to be a bit more confident to open up myself, but nevertheless I’m very happy with this second place. I’m up there among big names, thanks to perfect teamwork.”

Weather at the finish city of Rønne at 2:10 PM, local time: 21C (69F), fair, with the wind from the west-southwest at 13 km/hr (7 mph). There is just a 2% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from winner Mads Pedersen's Team Lidl-Trek.

Lidl-Trek’s Tour of Denmark couldn’t have started any better, with Mads Pedersen winning the opening stage and taking the race lead. Pedersen was joined by teammate and compatriot Mattias Skjelmose in the lead group, which broke away from the peloton with 35km to go. The five-man group combined well and caught the early breakaway, which joined them to the finish.

As the finish approached, Skjelmose covered every attack and rode hard on the front to lead out Pedersen to victory. The peloton crossed the line 38 seconds after Pedersen, giving the former World Champion, and Skjelmose, a healthy advantage in the overall classification after the first stage. Tomorrow, we head to the Danish mainland for a flat and fast stage close to Copenhagen.

“In the end we can’t complain,” said Mads Pedersen at the finish. “It was a really good group that we went across with second time up the climb. There were only a few GC riders there and a lot of GC guys in the second group. Everyone in the break was committed to working and make as much time as possible on the peloton so it was a super nice group and we worked well until the last km and a half and then there was a bit of attacking, but Skjelly did an amazing leadout so yeah, what a day! We talked about if we could go to the finish line without losing any time and be in the mix then we would be happy because today we knew we could lose the GC. To come away with 35/40 seconds on the peloton is a perfect start to the race.

The 2025 Tour of Denmark gets started.

“Coming from Denmark, we know how the roads are and it’s often coming from big roads to small roads and the small roads here are pretty small, so to be a full peloton on these small roads can really stretch it out and causes a lot of stop & go style racing. It makes it a lot harder especially if you’re in position 50 or something because then you’re all day like an elastic band just up and down, up and down. It was a big help being the team that everyone was looking at because it meant we had to work which also meant then we had a good position, so it was ideal.

We’ve been in this situation before. It’s always ideal to have more than one set of cards to play and now we’re in a perfect situation and it’s only a few guys in the GC now and we have two of them.”
