The race: After winning in 2021 and 2022, Stefan Küng has now won Chrono des Nations for the third time.
Here's the race report from fifth-place Alec Segaert's Team Lotto Dstny:
Alec Segaert has wrapped up his season with a fifth-place finish in the Chrono des Nations. Segaert had already won the 1.1 time trial twice in the U23 category. "In the end, I’m standing here among some big names," he reflects with satisfaction.
He wanted to recharge one last time before the holiday break. Successfully, it turns out, as Alec Segaert can kick off his off-season with a strong top-five finish in the highly regarded Chrono des Nations.

"I got off to a good start and at the first intermediate time check, I was told that the top six, including eventual winner Stefan Küng, were extremely close," he says. "However, halfway through, I started experiencing a numb leg. This issue first arose last year during the same race. It's frustrating, and something we definitely need to investigate further this winter because at that moment, I just can't push the watts I normally should, especially in a time trial of this length."
"I tried to stop pedaling occasionally and stretch on the bike in an attempt to manage it, but I quickly realized I’d have to settle for fifth place. Fortunately, my overall feeling on the bike was good, which allows me to look back with satisfaction. Despite everything, I’m still in a list of great names here."
