Weather at the start/finish city of Bertrix at 2:15 PM, local time: 18C (65F), mostly cloudy, with the wind from the west-southwest at 10 km/hr (6 mph). There is a 3% chance of rain, rising to 7% at 4:00 PM.

Here's the report from GC winner Corbin Strong's Team Israel-Premier Tech:

Corbin Strong claimed the first GC victory of his pro career at the Tour de Wallonie, with the bonus seconds he earned for finishing second in Wednesday’s fifth and final stage wrapping up the win.

Strong continued his incredibly consistent week – one in which he finished every stage on the top 10 – with an assured performance on stage 5, which took place on a typically-Belgian circuit around Bertrix.

Unfazed by the hardest day of the race, which featured 3,420 meters of elevation, the Kiwi never looked like relinquishing the race’s distinctive orange jersey.

Indeed, until the final kilometer, it appeared that five riders from the day’s 12-man breakaway would stay clear of the peloton until the finish. However, on the uphill approach to the line, all-but stage winner Clément Izquierdo (COF) were caught by Strong, who reiterated his dominance over the race with an eye-catching sprint.

26 km to go: 12 riders are 1min 13sec ahead of the peloton.

Having started the day with a one-second advantage, Strong ultimately won the race by nine seconds over Mathias Vacek (LTK).

He says: “I’m really, really happy to win this race. This season hasn’t gone the way I hoped it would go, so to come here and take the overall win is a really, really nice feeling. Hopefully, this is the start of a good second half to the season.

“My teammates did a really good job at the start, riding a solid pace to keep the breakaway within check, but we weren’t really too bothered about the stage win. Obviously, I only had one second on Vacek coming into today, so it was actually better for us if the breakaway took all the time bonuses. The guys did a really good job of keeping it within about three minutes, and then in the last few kilometers, Lidl – Trek took over.

“From that point on, I knew I had to just stay in the wheel of Vacek. I couldn’t let him out of my sight, and I knew that if we were coming to the line and some time bonuses were on offer, I needed to beat him.

“It was pretty touch-and-go at the finish. I really didn’t want us to catch the breakaway, but I could see them getting closer and closer, and I also knew I had pretty good legs. I came close to the stage win, but I’m really happy to wrap the GC up today.”

Consistency was key to Strong’s success. After winning Saturday’s opening stage in Nassogne, he also finished second on stage 4 and fourth on stage 3.

This GC victory also makes up for how last year’s Tour de Wallonie ended for the 25-year-old. He finished second overall, level on time with winner Matteo Trentin, having been controversially relegated for his sprint on stage 4 – something that ultimately cost him the GC after it was decided on countback.

Sports Director Pat McCarty praised Strong and his teammates for their efforts this week, saying: “The guys were pretty amazing all week. They were all on the same page, and they adapted and communicated well.

“Ultimately, we put everything behind Corbin because he’s riding so well. We could see that on day one, when he won. It was like ‘okay, this is what we’re doing’. And we thought we could win the race.

“When you have everybody committed like that and working together, it’s not easy, but it’s definitely very, very doable. We avoided some bad luck this week, and we avoided mishaps – I wouldn’t say everything went right, but, in the end, we had a really strong team and the strongest rider in the race, so it feels pretty sweet to get it done.“

Here's the early report from GC leader Corbin Strong's Team Israel-Premier Tech:

Corbin Strong moved a step closer to claiming the first GC victory of his pro career on Tuesday as he retook the Tour de Wallonie race lead after a challenging fourth stage.

After dominating the finish in Nassogne in Saturday’s opener, Strong placed second in Seraing following the toughest stage of the UCI ProSeries to date, one that retraced parts of the Liège – Bastogne – Liège route.

A trio with about a 30-second lead on the pack about 35 km into the stage.

The 25-year-old was part of a four-rider group that went clear on the uncategorised Côte de la Haute Rochette with 7.5 kilometers remaining.

Despite being beaten by Mathias Vacek (LTK) at the finish, Strong moved back into the orange jersey thanks to the time bonus he took at the race’s intermediate sprint in Flémalle.

He holds a one-second advantage over Vacek entering Wednesday’s final stage, which is again suited to puncheurs like the Kiwi.

He says: “I had a lot of fun racing today. In the finish I was scared of getting caught with 500m to go like yesterday so I made the decision to risk the stage win, to get some time on GC.

“Unfortunately, Vacek got the jump on me and I couldn’t recover to win the stage, but I’m happy with how today went. To be back in the overall GC lead means it was a successful day.”

Taking the GC victory at the Tour de Wallonie would be additionally satisfying for Strong. Last year, he finished second overall, level on time with winner Matteo Trentin, having been controversially relegated for his sprint on stage 4 – something that ultimately cost him the GC after it was decided on countback.

“Tomorrow will be a big challenge to defend the GC, but I’m looking forward to the race,” Strong adds.

Davide Donati won the third stage of the Tour de Wallonie (2.Pro) in a bunch sprint, celebrating his first victory among the pros. The 20-year-old Italian is actually part of the U23 team Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe Rookies, but proved himself to be an old hand in Belgium.

As so often this season, the rookies integrated themselves into the WorldTour team in Wallonia, this time with particular success. Davide prevailed over professionals Milan Fretin and Anders Foldager after 165 kilometres from Estinnes to Antoing. The rookie owed the opportunity to demonstrate his power in the sprint to his teammates, who helped catch up with a breakaway group just a few metres before the finish line.

Early in the race. I believe this is Eddy Le Huitouze, Rasmus Bogh Wallin & Henri-François Renard-Haquin trying to get away.

Davide Donati: "Our primary goal was to protect Roger Adria. But then the team gave me the opportunity to sprint. And I didn't want to let that opportunity slip by. I found the right wheels in the final and am now very proud of what I have achieved: my first professional victory! I will now try to enjoy the moment as much as possible."

DS Christian Pömer: "We already recognised on the first stage that Davide moves very well in the field and tried it out with him yesterday. Just for practice, without any pressure. Today we wanted to try again and prepare for the sprint. There was a moment of panic when a breakaway formed ten kilometres before the finish, but with our help, they were caught just before the finish line. Hats off to Davide for being able to sprint so well. We are delighted to have the winner today."

Here's the race report from third-place Louis Rouland's Team arkea-B&B Hotels:

After breaking away with three others in the final stretch, Louis Rouland secured his first professional podium finish in the second stage between Huy and Sambreville. He also claimed the best young rider jersey.

Louis Rouland:
For this second stage, a sprint finish was expected. The pace was fast all day long. On the final circuit, in the last lap with 25 km to go, there were some moves. I followed the attacks and we ended up with about fifteen riders at the front. Then we broke away, first two of us, then three. We came to the sprint. I lacked a little strength and freshness to do better than third in the sprint. I have no regrets because I think I was beaten by someone stronger than me. The Tour de Wallonie isn't over yet and I've repositioned myself well in terms of the final overall classification.

Louis Rouland is our leader in this Tour de Wallonie. In this race, it often comes down to seconds. He launched his attacks and found himself at the front. There were two other riders with him. Behind them, they opened up a gap and battled for the stage victory. We knew it would be difficult against the other two. It doesn't matter because he was able to pick up bonus points at the finish line. Louis is tied for third place in the provisional overall standings after two stages. We remain focused on achieving a good final overall ranking. Luca Mozatto made a good sprint from the peloton and took 5th place. The team had a great day.

Weather at the start/finish city of Nassogne at 2:40 PM, local time: 23C (74F), mostly cloudy, with the wind from the northwest at 11 km/hr (7 mph). There is a 6% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from stage winner Corbin Strong's Team Israel-Premier Tech:

A first victory of 2025 and a fifth of his career to date for Corbin Strong as the Kiwi and IPT started this year’s Tour de Wallonie in style on Saturday.

Strong took a stage win en route to finishing second overall in last year’s race, and he capped a dominant team performance by sprinting to victory on an uphill finish Nassogne.

IPT was notable for the way it controlled the peloton’s pace during the 183-kilometer stage, with Israeli champion Oded Kogut and recent IPT Academy graduate Floris Van Tricht contributing significantly on behalf of Strong. The day’s five-rider breakaway began to split in the closing 50 kilometers, before the final rider – Ludovic Robeet (COF) – was caught just over 2 kilometers from the line.

Strong started his sprint with 200 meters to go, and once he had hit the front he rode into the distance, with nobody ever looking like they would get on terms with him. The bonus seconds gained by the 25-year-old for the victory sees him lead the GC by four seconds over Rasmus Tiller, with Anders Foldager a further two seconds in arrears.
