Weather at the city of Luxembourg at 2:40 PM, local time: 19C (66F), cloudy, with the wind from the west at 27 km/hr (17 mph). At 3:00 PM there is a 23% chance of rain, rising to 40% at 4:00 PM.

The stage: The final stage starts in Mersch before heading towards Luxembourg City for an exciting conclusion in Limpertsberg.

With the overall classification still on the line and one last opportunity for attackers, the 2026 Škoda Tour de Luxembourg is set to finish with a thrilling battle for the yellow jersey.

Here's the report from GC winner Davide Piganzoli's Team Visma | Lease a Bike:

Davide Piganzoli has won the 86th edition of the Tour de Luxembourg. The 24-year-old Italian from Team Visma | Lease a Bike succesfully defended his overall lead in the final stage. In the battle for the stage win, the peloton was unable to catch Mathieu van der Poel, who rode solo from start to finish.

“I’m extremely happy with our performance this week,” Davide Piganzoli said after the challenging final stage. The last stage of the five-day race in Luxembourg started in Mersch and finished in the capital. Piganzoli began the stage with a 47-second lead over his closest rival, Mattéo Vercher. 

After the start, Van der Poel went solo. The Dutchman built a maximum lead of more than five minutes over the peloton, where overall leader Piganzoli was consistently well supported by his teammates. When the race entered the local circuits in Limpertsberg, Van der Poel still had a substantial advantage. He ultimately completed his solo ride successfully. Behind him, the battle for the remaining podium places unfolded. 

On the short, steep finishing climb, Piganzoli reacted quickly to an acceleration from Pepijn Reinderink. The Italian then sprinted to fourth place in a reduced peloton. His lead in the general classification was never under threat. Following his time trial victory on Saturday, Piganzoli secured the overall win. 

“The team rode a fantastic race,” Piganzoli said. “We were perfectly positioned in the peloton all day. During the opening hour, we let the breakaway go. The riders in the break did not pose a threat to us with the overall standings in mind. Our goal today was to win the overall classification, and we achieved that. We were less focused on winning the stage. Mathieu rode a phenomenal stage. He absolutely deserved the victory. We can look back on a successful week here. I also want to thank my teammates for all their hard work.” 

Piganzoli’s overall victory brings Team Visma | Lease a Bike’s season win total to 49. For Piganzoli, it was his fourth victory in the team’s yellow-and-black colors.

Weather at the race city of Ettelbruck aty 4:30 PM, local time: 23C (73F), partly cloudy, with the wind from the southwest at 21 km/hr (13 mph). No rain is forecast.

The stage: The race against the clock takes center stage in Ettelbruck. Over 20.4 kilometers, every second counts as riders tackle a fast yet technically demanding course.

The time trial is set to play a crucial role in the fight for the overall victory.

First rider off was Steyn van der Veen (Metec-SOLARWATT p/b Mantel) at 4:15 PM.

The race:

Scott McGill (Modern Adventure Pro Cycling) did not start.

Here's the race report from stage winner & GC leader Davide Piganzoli's Team Visma | Lease a Bike:

Davide Piganzoli has impressively won the time trial at the Tour de Luxembourg. The 24-year-old rider recorded the fastest time at the intermediate split and then managed to hold on to his advantage. With his victory, Piganzoli strengthens his lead in the general classification, while Tijmen Graat moves up to sixth place.

“It is very nice to win here,” Piganzoli looks back. “The plan was to go full gas from the start in today’s time trial, and it is great to finish with this result. When I had the fastest time at the intermediate split, I knew I could compete for the win, even though the technical second part was more suited to the specialists.”

After a strong team performance in the third stage of the Tour de Luxembourg, which saw Piganzoli take the leader’s jersey, the important time trial was on the programme today. While Andrea Raccagni Noviero had set the fastest benchmark time of 26:52, Graat and Piganzoli took to the course towards the end of the time trial.

Graat, who started the day ninth in the general classification, rode a strong time trial in 27:59. Piganzoli, who was the final rider to start as the race leader, once again showed his good form. The 24-year-old Italian recorded the fastest time at the intermediate split and never surrendered his advantage, securing his third victory of the season and further extending his lead in the general classification.

Tomorrow, the riders face a tricky final stage, in which the climber hopes to defend his lead in the general classification. “I have a lot of confidence in the team and in myself. Tomorrow will be another tough stage, but we are ready to defend the leader’s jersey.”

Weather at the finish city of Diekirch at 2:45 PM, local time: 19C (66F), cloudy, with the wind from the west-southwest at 16 km/hr (10 mph). No rain is forecast.

The stage: The Queen Stage of the 2026 Škoda Tour de Luxembourg takes the riders deep into the rugged north of the country. From Wiltz, the route heads all the way to Weiswampach before turning south again towards Diekirch, covering the most demanding terrain of the week.

With numerous climbs, relentless elevation changes and nearly 190 kilometres of racing, this stage is expected to be decisive for the general classification and could create significant time gaps before the individual time trial.

The race: Here's the stage three report from stage winner Pepijn Reinderink's Team Soudal Quick-Step.

Pepijn Reinderink made it two Soudal Quick-Step victories in the space of just one hour. After Tim Merlier emerged as the fastest in Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen, Pepijn pulled off a remarkable success on the toughest stage of the Tour de Luxembourg so far, a testament to his determination, grit and admirable fighting spirit that kept him going even when the chances of making it looked incredibly slim.

Best climber of the race two years ago, Reinderink was one of the two Soudal Quick-Step riders - alongside Gil Gelders - to book a place in the first breakaway of the day, that formed 35 kilometers into the stage. The attackers gained significant time over the peloton despite the challenging route, which included numerous climbs, and even when they were caught by a strong chasing group, where our team had Gauthier Sevranckx, they still maintained a solid gap over the bunch.

Once they entered the circuit, however, things began to change and splits appeared in the leading group on the slopes of Montée de Haemerich. Pepijn immediately responded to a dangerous attack and found himself part of a strong front move that quickly opened a 20-second gap on the chasers. Soon after, the 24-year-old Dutchman rode clear and continued alone, while behind the chasers began increasing the tempo on the steep gradients of the last climb.

Reinderink crested it just a handful of seconds ahead of a chasing trio and kept pushing as he approached the finish in Diekirch. Not even the uphill drag to the line and a powerful surge of his opponents could stop him from garlanding this stunning ride with an emotional victory, one that brought tears to his life and left him speechless after the finish. Only after going to the podium to receive the winner’s trophy and the KOM jersey, which he’ll wear on the penultimate stage, Pepijn shared his thoughts on the day where he made the implausible seem credible.

“I felt amazing today, and when you are that strong, you need to give everything until the last drop of energy. On the penultimate hill, I sensed that the others were struggling so I attacked and went alone. I knew the chasers were strong, but I was confident in my chances of pulling it off. I still can’t believe what happened, it feels surreal after all the hard work in all these years. It’s a day I will never forget”, said Pepijn, the 114th different rider in the history of the team to win a race.

Weather at the finish city of Junglinster at 2:55 PM, local time: 21C (69F), partly cloudy, with the wind from the southwest at 26 km/hr (16 mph). No rain is forecast.

The stage: Starting in Differdange/Niederkorn, the peloton heads towards the legendary Mousel climb before continuing through the beautiful Müllerthal region and the historic town of Echternach. The riders then make their way to Junglinster, where they will tackle the finishing circuit.

With a relatively favorable profile compared to the other road stages, Stage 2 is expected to suit the sprinters and could provide the fastest finish of the week—provided they can keep the attackers under control.

The race: Here's the report from stage winner Marijn van den Berg's Team EF Education-EasyPost.

Marijn van den Berg burst to Stage 2 victory at the Tour de Luxembourg, capping off a powerful performance from his teammates to take over the GC lead.

Marijn exploded off Lukas Nerurkar's wheel 250 meters before the finish line in Junglinster, driving up the right side of the road at full tilt. It was a long, long sprint, but no one could pass him. In the final meters, Marijn kicked one last time into his pedals and threw his arms in the air as he crossed the line. Thanks to the bonus seconds he earned with his third place on Stage 1 yesterday and today's win, Marijn now leads the general classification.

"I felt good, and I felt that was the moment," he said after celebrating with his teammates. "I had the momentum, so I just went. With 25 meters left, I felt it was 25 meters too far, but I kept going. I was super motivated to get this victory. I couldn't stop anymore. I needed to win this one."

Marijn's victory was a win for the whole squad. From the start in Niederkorn to the final circuits around Junglinster, they backed him all the way. Jardi van der Lee spent most of the race on the front of the peloton, keeping the early break in check and the speed up as they raced across the Grand Duchy, while rookie Magnus Carstensen, who has stepped up for this race from EF Education-Aevolo, fetched bottles and helped keep Marijn out of the wind. Max Walker and Mikkel Honoré marked attacks when the racing heated up on the tough final circuit. And then Lukas took over. As the peloton hurtled forward in the final kilometers, he kept his cool, surging ahead to drop Marijn off at just the right spot.

"It was quite hectic with some attacks on the local lap," Marijn said. "Mikkel is our GC guy, and he was feeling good, so he jumped with a few guys, but the goal was always to go for the sprint with me. The team was super strong at keeping me in a good position, and we never really lost control. Lukas led it out really well, exactly like we'd planned on the bus this morning, and luckily I had the legs to do a long sprint. I went a bit too early, but it was good enough."

After this stage win, Marijn and his teammates will now focus on the GC race. With lots of climbing and a time trial still ahead, Marijn hopes he is just keeping the yellow jersey warm for teammate Mikkel Honoré.

"The plan is still to go for Mikkel," Marijn said. "I have no ambitions for the GC. I really wanted this victory, and now we go all in for him."

Weather at the finish city of Luxembourg-Fëschmaart at 2:50 PM, local time: 18C (64F), mostly cloudy, with the wind from the west-northwest at 18 km/hr (11 mph). There is just a 2% chance of rain.

The stage: The 2026 Škoda Tour de Luxembourg begins in the heart of the capital at the historic Knuedler before heading into the rolling roads of Luxembourg.

The race returns to the city for a spectacular finish at the iconic Fëschmaart, where the first leader’s jersey of the week will be awarded.

The race: Here's the report from fourth-place Per Strand Hagenes' Team Visma | Lease a bike:

Team Visma | Lease a Bike got off to a promising start at the Tour de Luxembourg. Per Strand Hagenes finished fourth in the challenging opening stage, while teammate Davide Piganzoli also secured a top-ten finish. Mathieu van der Poel proved to be the strongest rider of the day.

The five-day race in Luxembourg got underway with a 158-kilometer stage starting and finishing in the capital. After a relatively flat opening, the riders faced several short climbs. At the foot of the Côte de Stafelter, the final climb of the day, the last remaining breakaway rider was caught, before Mathieu van der Poel launched his attack.

The Dutchman put the pressure on and only Eike Behrens was able to follow. Thanks in part to the efforts of Team Visma | Lease a Bike, the duo was brought back, leaving a reduced peloton to battle it out on the final uphill kilometer. Hagenes fought his way to fourth place behind Van der Poel, while Piganzoli crossed the line in tenth.

"I’m happy with my performance. This was the best I could do today", Hagenes said afterward. "A finish like this suits me really well. My teammates had full confidence in me and made sure I was in a good position heading into the final meters. I gave it everything I had, but I just wasn’t strong enough to win."

Sports director Sierk Jan de Haan looked back on a successful opening day. "We really wanted to go for the sprint with Per, and thanks in part to the strong teamwork, we were able to do that. Per was also very strong in the finale and finished fourth against a strong field. That gives both him and the team a huge confidence boost heading into the next few days."

Tomorrow is likely to end in a bunch sprint, while the following stages will feature more climbing. "We’re aiming for a stage win. We’ve marked stages three and five because we’re very strong across the board as a team. In the time trial, we’ll go all-out and see where we stand in the overall standings. Davide is our leader, but Per should also be able to finish high."
