Weather at the finish city of Leysin at 2:40 PM, local time: 13C (55F), rain showers, with the wind from the west at 18 km/hr (11 mph). There is a 37% chance of the rain continuing through 6:00 PM.

The race: Here's the report from stage & GC winner Tadej Pogacar's UAE Team Emirates-XRG.

On the final day of racing in Switzerland, Tadej Pogačar won stage 5 at the Tour de Romandie and sealed the overall title. Winning the general classification on debut, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG man ends the race with a remarkable tally of four stage victories.

In claiming the yellow jersey on Sunday afternoon, the world champion has now added the fifth of cycling’s big seven’ week-long stage races to his palmarès. All that remains for Pogačar to take are Itzulia Basque Country and the Tour de Suisse.

It was in a two-up sprint at the summit of Leysin (14.3km at 5.9%) that Pogačar crossed the line to take another victory in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, pipping Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) to the finish. On his way to the overall title, Pogačar has won stages 1, 2, 4 and 5 this week.

With victories in the stage and the general classification on Sunday, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider has moved to 117 career wins, with the Emirati squad sitting on 27 victories in 2026.

Heading into stage 5 with a 35-second lead on Lipowitz in the general classification, Pogačar knew that he would have to remain consistent on the only summit finish of the week. An eight-man breakaway went clear early in the day, but Pogačar’s UAE Team Emirates-XRG squad, along with the help of Bahrain Victorious, kept the group on a tight leash.

At the foot of the final climb, Domen Novak paced the peloton for UAE Team Emirates-XRG, with the breakaway just a minute up the road. The pack ultimately swallowed the group, as both Antonio Tiberi and Damiano Caruso came to the front for Bahrain Victorious. The Italian pair were looking to set up an attack from the third-placed Lenny Martinez.

However, with 3.7km of the day to go, no attack had come, and it was Pogačar’s teammate Felix Grossschartner who took up the pace-setting duties. The Austrian’s presence drew attention from Pogačar’s rivals, and some 400m later, both Lipowitz and Jørdan Nordhagen (Visma-Lease a Bike) traded attacks off the front of the group.

Responding to these moves with relative ease, Pogačar bridged up to Lipowitz and with 2.9km to go, the Slovenian made his own acceleration at the front. To this attack, the Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe rider was able to follow the wheel, and the pair were soon in sight of the finish.

Despite Primož Roglič (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) coming close to their back wheels, Lipowitz and Pogačar contested the day’s honours in a sprint to the line.

Lipowitz began his acceleration some 500m from the top, but it was Pogačar who snapped the elastic with 300m to go. As the German was distanced, the world champion and yellow jersey wearer could sit up and celebrate his fourth stage success of the week. It was the perfect way to seal the overall title for Pogačar, who claimed the Tour de Romandie on debut.

Pogačar: “It was a tough day, Bahrain came to help us, they wanted to go for the stage as well, and fight for the GC. It was good for us, a hard pace all day and then on the climb, Florian attacked first and he did a really good job, but luckily I could survive on his wheel and he launched really early, and then it was a fight to the finish line.

“I knew I needed to go all out to the finish line, but actually, when I attacked and then Florian counter-attacked, it was really impressive. It was a pain in the legs, I must admit. Then we worked a little bit together, I didn’t want to work too much in the final because I knew I needed to have a good kick in the end. Florian started his sprint; it felt like 600m to the finish line, and I just committed and passed. I had to commit to the finish line, but it was really long.

“It is a WorldTour stage race, it is what suits me, and I have always admired this race since I was young, seeing Primož [Roglič] win many times. It was always beautiful to see it on the TV, so I wanted to come here to race, to experience it, and to win.

“It was an amazing week, especially all the kids coming through the week out of school, this was super nice to see. And now in the weekend also, all the families with the kids, they were really nice fans. There was a lot of signs with my name so it was a real pleasure to ride this week in Romandie.”

Weather at the finish city of Charmey at 2:50 PM, local time: 21C (70F), partly cloudy, with the wind from the west-northwest at 10 km/hr (6 mph). There is a 24% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from stage winner & GC leader Tadej Pogacar's UAE Team Emirates-XRG.

For the third time in a week, Tadej Pogačar emerged the stage winner at the Tour de Romandie, with the Slovenian extending his race lead.

On Saturday’s Queen stage, Pogačar further asserted his authority over the race, winning alone in Charmey. It was on the final mountain pass that the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider had gone away from his rivals.

After a tremendous job by his teammates all afternoon to keep a dangerous breakaway, including Primož Roglič (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe), on a tight leash, Pogačar set Pavel Sivakov to work on the final ascent of the Jaunpass.

Stretching out for 8.1km at 8.3%, this was no easy climb, and always had the potential to sort out a natural pecking order. Recognizing this opportunity, Pogačar mounted his attack with more than 3km to the summit.

After blistering past the remnants of the breakaway, Pogačar was joined by Roglič’s teammate, Florian Lipowitz. The German started the day in second overall and had plenty of motivation to try and match the Slovenian’s attack.

Regardless, Pogačar kept his pace and with a little over a kilometer to the top of the climb, Lipowitz was distanced for good.

Over the top of the climb, Pogačar did not relent, and instead extended his advantage as he dropped down to the finish in Charmey. By the line, his gap was 14 seconds over Lipowitz, and more than 90 seconds to anyone else.

With his third stage victory of the race, Pogačar stretched his lead in the yellow jersey to 35 seconds. Only Sunday’s stage remains at the 79th Tour de Romandie.

Pogačar: “It was pure teamwork. We planned to come over the first two climbs still with seven riders, and then we could go for the stage. Chapeau to everybody in the team. The first hour of racing was so hard, and then to bring the breakaway back, all the teammates were fantastic. I am so happy I could finish it off.

“The competition today was really good and really strong. It was really hard to drop Florian in the end, he was so strong. Also on the downhill he gave me a really hard time to keep the time gap the same, so it was not easy. It was a super hard day and I am happy with the performance today.”

Weather at the start/finish city of Orbe at 2:25 PM, local time: 20C (68F), sunny, with the wind from the south-southeast at 6 km/hr (4 mph). There is just a 1% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from stage winner Dorian Godon's Team INEOS Grenadiers.

Dorian Godon dug deep and rewarded the team with a second stage victory at the Tour de Romandie.

The French champion was paced over the final climb on stage three, setting his own tempo over the Col du Mollendruz with the help of teammate Bob Jungels.

Regaining contact on the descent with the help of AJ August and Laurens De Plus, the pair then helped drive the pace to haul back the remaining trio of riders from the day's breakaway.

As a select peloton contested the finish in Orbe, Carlos Rodriguez then turned leadout man to help Dorian in the closing metres.

Godon opened up his sprint early like 24 hours earlier, but would not be denied at the finish to claim a rousing victory.

For Rodriguez, finishing in the GC group ensured he remained well positioned overall, jumping up a spot to sixth overall on the leaderboard.

Tour of Flanders, the Inside Story

Weather at the finish city of Vucherons at 2:45 PM, local time: 17C (63F), sunny, with the wind from the north-northeast at 13 km/hr (8 mph). No rain is forecast.

The race: Sean Quinn (EF Education-EasyPost) did not start and early on Mattia Gaffuri (Team Picnic PostNL) abandoned.

Here's the report from stage winner and GC leader Tadej Pogacar's UAE Team Emirates-XRG:

Tadej Pogačar made it two wins in two days for UAE Team Emirates-XRG at the Tour de Romandie, with the race leader picking the spoils from a reduced bunch sprint on stage 2.

It was a remarkable victory from the world champion, who reminded everybody just how fast his acceleration can be at the finish line. In winning from a 32-man front group, Pogačar extended his lead in the yellow jersey by 10 bonus seconds, and doubled up on his success from stage 1.

GC leader Tadej Pogacar signs autographs before the stage start.

Thursday’s victory was no straightforward task for Pogačar, who was attacked on multiple fronts on the final climb of the day. Seeing one attack after another go off the front of the reduced peloton, the yellow jersey sought to defend his lead and extinguished each one. This was after his UAE Team Emirates-XRG teammates had done a fine job of placing their leader towards the front at the bottom of the 3.1km-long ascent to Vuillens.

With the attacks closed down, it was Pogačar who drove the pace over the top of the climb, in an effort to dissuade any further moves. As the group barrelled down to the finish in Vucherens, it was natural to assume the likes of Dorian Godon (Ineos Grenadiers), the prologue winner, would battle it out for the day’s honours.

However, fancying his chances once more, Pogačar waited until the last moment in the 32-man sprint to make his move. Darting over the right-hand shoulder of Godon, the race leader ultimately won by more than a wheel, and picked up his second win in as many days.

Behind Pogačar, Godon continued his good run of form to take second place, whilst third went to former UAE Team Emirates rider, Finn Fisher-Black (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe).

Pogačar: “We knew the final lap, because we did it three times, and I knew the sprint was going to be tough because of the climbs before. It was indeed a super fast climb with a tailwind, but then for the sprint it was a super headwind, and quite downhill. So I knew you couldn’t be too much in front, but I was for the last corner, I was too much in front. Then suddenly some guys came, they were too early, and it was advantage for me.

“To make the difference in time gaps, the final climb was not tough enough. But it made a difference in the legs, if you go over the limit then for sure it is harder to do a good sprint. Luckily for me it was still all under control and I could do a good sprint for me.

Weather at the start/finish city of Martigny at 2:30 PM, local time: 21C (69F), mostly cloudy, with the wind from the west-southwest at 11 km/hr (7 mph). There is a 23% chance of rain.

The race: Here's the report from stage winner & new GC leader Tadej Pogacar's UAE Team Emirates-XRG.

On stage 1 of the Tour de Romandie, Tadej Pogačar took the day’s honours and in doing so, became the new race leader.

Just 24 hours on from the opening prologue, Pogačar stamped his authority on the race for UAE Team Emirates-XRG. For the world champion, it was his first road stage of the season, and his first stage victory of 2026.

The win moves Pogačar to five victories for the campaign, and puts him and his Emirati squad into control of the race leader’s yellow jersey.

Just three days on from his Liège-Bastogne-Liège triumph, Pogačar eyed up his opportunity to put his general classification rivals under pressure. Right from the off, it was UAE Team Emirates-XRG who put the squeeze on the peloton, as the day’s breakaway was handily reeled in.

It was then, on the major climb of the day (8.9km at 9.8%), that Pogačar’s teammate Pavel Sivakov produced a vicious lead-out for the Slovenian. With Sivakov opening up the show, Pogačar soon delivered a trademark acceleration, some 39km from the finish line in Martigny.

Initially, it was only Lenny Martinez of Bahrain Victorious that could follow the 27-year-old’s wheel, but the pair were later joined by Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe) and Jefferson Cepeda (Movistar). Further up the climb, Cepeda could not stand the pace, and his place in the leading group was taken by Jørgen Nordhagen of Visma-Lease a Bike.

Once this front four was decided, the quartet held their advantage through the descent of the climb. Into the final 30km, it soon became clear that Lipowitz would not contribute to the pace-setting, with his teammate Primož Roglič sitting in a group behind.

Nevertheless, Nordhagen, Martinez and Pogačar relayed and ensured that the front group of four would sprint for the honours at the finish line. In this four-up sprint, it was Pogačar who packed the biggest punch, and took the stage 1 victory.

Speaking after the finish, the UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider heaped praise both on his breakaway companions, and his fellow teammates.

Pogačar: “I did not plan anything but it was nice to take the win against the youngsters. It was a really nice race, a very quick day and happy with the win in the sprint against the three guys.

“Of course, the last 22km was headwind and to try to do something would be very stupid. So I was happy to have two young eager guys to pull with me. They did a super good job and they are super strong, so we managed to stay in front, which was still difficult with only three pulling and one guy sitting in the wheel. That is always harder to stay in front against a group behind, so we can be proud, all of us who were in front.

“I think every win is important but to win today, my first stage in a stage race this season, and to do it here in Romandie on a nice parcours, in a nice country, I really enjoyed it.

“We saw today it was all on us all day, the team did a super good job, so also for this reason I am super happy to take the yellow jersey. Now we will try to defend it every stage, and the best defence is to attack, so we will see how we approach the next days. It was a super job from the team today, and we have a tough week ahead of us, but I think we have a strong team to defend the yellow.”

Weather at the race city of Villars-sur-Gläne at 2:40 PM, local time: 17C (62F), raining, with the wind from the northwest at 6 km/hr (4 mph). At 4:00 PM, the chance of rain drops to 62% and is forecast to stop for an hour at 5:00 PM.

The race: First rider to start was Davide Formolo (Movistar) at 3:45 PM.

Here's the report from stage winner and GC leader Dorian Godon's Team INEOS Grenadiers.

Dorian Godon took a powerful prologue win on the first day of the Tour of Romandie.

The Frenchman sailed into the hot seat after an impressive performance, clocking a time of three minutes and 35 seconds over the flat 3.2-kilometre course in Villars-sur-Glane.

Godon held onto the top spot unchallenged, with Ivo Olivera (UAE Team Emirates - XRG) his closest competitor, over six seconds behind.

Carlos Rodriguez was the next rider home from the team, 17 seconds back on his teammate, while Oscar Onley also got his GC challenge under way in Switzerland.

Speaking after his win, Godon said:
“I was fourth a couple of years ago in the prologue at this race, so it’s really nice to take the win this time. It was a big effort today but I really enjoyed it, and took some risks to get the win. Obviously Sam Watson got the win here last year so the team is really happy that we’re able to take the win here again.

“I wanted to win at least one stage at this race, so it’s nice to get it in early and be able to wear the yellow jersey tomorrow. To have had wins at Paris-Nice and Catalunya, and now here, I just want to win at every race.

“It’s not easy to beat [Tadej] Pogacar, and I think he took less risks than me, so I’m really happy with how I performed. I’m proud of myself for that ride. Everyone had similar conditions today really so just had to hold on and wait, so it’s super nice to get the win after that.”

Tomorrow’s stage will see Godon in the yellow jersey, with the riders tackling the category three climb La Rasse three times, before taking on the category one Ovronnaz climb.
