La Méditerranéenne (2.1)
Winners, podium, distance, average speed
The Tour of the Mediterranean (Tour Méditerranéen) was a 6-stage race held in February. The Mediterranean Tour was created by Lucien Aimar, winner of the 1966 Tour de France, after he retired from professional racing in 1973. From 1974 to 1977 the race was called the Trophée Méditerranéen. It was elevated to 2.1 status in 2005.
The 2015 edition was cancelled. When it came back in 2016 it was with a new name, La Méditerranéenne.
