Hugo Page finally rewarded! The French rider claimed his first victory with Cofidis in a race perfectly suited to his style. Hugo stayed patient before launching his sprint and winning by a narrow margin at La Polynormande—his first race back after the Tour de France. With Alex Aranburu taking third place, Hugo secured Cofidis's ninth victory of the season.

He could finally savor the moment and celebrate. Hugo Page has at last secured his first win with Cofidis. The French rider has quickly settled into the team and demonstrated his qualities throughout the season. A key member of the Tour de France squad, he returned to racing with the same energy and enthusiasm this Sunday on the roads of La Polynormande.

Hugo and Alex: a race full of tactical flair
As is often the case, the Normandy race was wide open, with non-stop attacks in the closing stages. However, Hugo and Alex Aranburu remained vigilant and well-positioned. A group of strong riders formed in the finale, and both Cofidis riders were part of it. Hugo showed patience and launched his attack right at the end. Having secured the lead, he was able to celebrate in front of Alex Aranburu (3rd), who was quick to congratulate him.

Thanks to Hugo’s talent, the Cofidis team is back to winning ways, marking their ninth victory of the season. Demonstrating the team's strength in depth, Hugo is the seventh Cofidis rider to claim a win in 2026. Hugo has every reason to be delighted, as he hadn't raised his arms in victory since the Tour du Limousin three years ago. And the timing couldn't be better: Hugo and the Cofidis team are heading to that very race in two days' time.

Hugo Page: "Naturally, there is a great deal of pride. I battled hard for three weeks at the Tour de France, and it’s never easy. You can’t always achieve exactly what you want during the season. It had been three years since my last win, so I’m happy to have secured one here. I’m also delighted to achieve this while riding for Cofidis, a team that put its trust in me for three years. It’s the reward for all the hard work and the constant support from my loved ones.

"As for the race itself, we knew the finale was very tough and that the peloton might catch us right at the end. I benefited from the amazing work Alex (Aranburu) did right up to the finish. I latched onto his wheel, waited for the right moment to launch my sprint, and it paid off. I know I don’t get many chances to shine, so I’m happy to kick off the second half of the season this way. There are some great races ahead for me. When my head and legs are both in the right place, I know I can achieve great things!"

Benjamin Giraud, Sports Director: "We came to this race aiming for a big result. We had a very solid team effort—which explains why only three of our riders actually finished. Everyone worked incredibly well and managed the burden of controlling the race all day long. The finale was a bit chaotic, but we were constantly at the front, especially with Alex and Hugo. We reached the sprint with a group of about twenty riders. Hugo used his talent to make the decisive move and claim this fantastic victory!"
