The race:
The Four Days of Dunkirk (Quatre Jours de Dunkerque) bicycle race has been run since 1955. We should note that it no longer takes 4 days to complete. In 2009 the race was both 6 stages and 6 days long.
It started out in 1955 as a 4-day race in the the Nord-Pas de Calais region of Northern France but in 1963 the race added a time trial. The organizers chose to retain the original name, and so it is today.
Held in early May (where it can conflict with the Giro d'Italia), a look below at the riders who have made the podium of Four days of Dunkirk shows that it is a very prestigious race.
In 2025 the 4 Days of Dunkirk race organizers added a single day race run the day before the stage race, called the "Classique Dunkerque".
The UCI ranked the first edition of the Classique Dunkerque race "1.Pro"
