Paris–Roubaix: The Inside Story

Les Woodland's book Paris-Roubaix: The Inside Story - all the bumps of cycling's cobbled classic is available as an audiobook here.

1912 Tour Quick Facts:

5,319 km raced at an average speed of 27.89 km/hr.

131 starters divided into two classifications, groupes (riders on sponsored teams) and isoles (independent riders). 41 classified finishers.

This was the last Tour to use points to calculate the standings.

Odile Defraye was the first Belgian to win the Tour.

Tour boss Henri Desgrange was upset because other Belgian riders, despite their being members of competing teams, helped Defraye.
