The race:

The Grand Prix de Denain is a single-day road race held around the city of Denain, a city in the Nord Department of northern France (on the border with Belgium). It was (2014) run in late April. In 2018 it was moved to mid-March.

The GP de Denain has been held since 1959 when Seamus Elliott won the first edition.

Jimmy Casper is the race's winningest rider, having won the race four times.

The UCI classed it as a 1.1 race in 2005 and made it part of the Europe Tour. The GP de Denain is also (in 2014) the sixth round of the Coupe de France season-long competition.
