Weather at the finish city of Frankfurt 2:20 PM, local time: 23C (73F), sunny, with the wind from the east at 16 km/hr (10 mph). No rain is forecast.

The course: With its traditional date on May 1st, Eschborn-Frankfurt is a fixture in the UCI WorldTour calendar. In the transition from the spring monuments to the national tours, it presents a showdown between classic specialists and the sprinting elite.

New Course, New Dynamics: The German Classic 2026
Eschborn-Frankfurt 2026 raises the bar with a significantly tougher course. The UCI WorldTour race will now cover 210 kilometers and more than 3,300 meters of elevation – making it the most demanding edition in race history. Two ascents of the Feldberg via its steeper southwest side, a decisive double climb at the Mammolshainer Stich, and the debut of the brutally steep “Burgweg” climb turn the Taunus into a tactical battleground and a fan hotspot. A new starting area in Eschborn adds to the fresh setup, reinforcing: May 1st remains a cycling celebration – for pros, fans, and families alike.

The race: Here's the report from third-place Ben Tulett's Team Visma | Lease a Bike:

Ben Tulett concluded his spring campaign in impressive fashion with a third-place finish at Eschborn-Frankfurt. The 24-year-old Brit played a key role in the decisive phase of the race and ultimately sprinted to a well-earned podium. In the German Classic, Tulett was only beaten by Tom Pidcock and winner George Zimmerman.

In the 63rd edition of the race, an early breakaway of four riders established itself on the road. The group built a solid advantage over the rolling course, but was kept under control by the peloton and ultimately did not contest the victory, with a well-positioned Dutch squad active at the front of the bunch.

On the decisive climb of the day, the Mammolshain, the race exploded into action. Tulett showed strong form, helping to force a selection in the peloton that reduced the lead group to twelve riders heading into the finale. In the streets of Frankfurt, the young Brit remained well positioned but narrowly missed out on the win in the sprint.

“I look back on today’s race with a very good feeling,” said Tulett after the finish. “The plan was to race aggressively, and as a team we executed that well. On the final ascent of the Mammolshain, Baudin and I went clear, but it wasn’t the right move to continue just the two of us. In the group that formed afterwards, the cooperation was good and I’m happy I could contest a strong sprint.”

For the 24-year-old rider, it marks his second podium of the spring, after previously finishing third in La Flèche Wallonne. “I look back on the past weeks with a positive feeling. After my crash in the Tour of the Basque Country, I wasn’t sure where I would stand in the classics. That I’ve ended up on the podium twice in two big races means a lot to me.”
