Weather at the finish city of Roquetas de Mar at 2:30 PM, local time: 17C (63F), cloudy, with the wind from the southwest at 14 km/hr (9 mph). No rain is forecast.

The race: Here's the report from winner Biniam Girmay's NSN Cycling Team.

Biniam Girmay powered to an impressive sprint victory at Clásica de Almería after a chaotic and crash-filled finale that tested both positioning and teamwork to the limit.

The race unfolded as expected, with the peloton largely compact heading into the final kilometres. However, the fight for position intensified dramatically inside the last ten kilometres, with multiple crashes disrupting the run-in and making the finale even more nervous and technical.

In the middle of that chaos, NSN Cycling Team stayed calm and united.

Brady Gilmore, Lewis Askey and Hugo Hofstetter played a crucial role in the final kilometres, guiding Girmay safely through the crashes and delivering him into the perfect position to launch his sprint. The teamwork continued inside the final kilometre, where the group managed the lead-out together before Girmay opened up his sprint to take a convincing victory.

“From the start until the finish, our guys did a super incredible job,” said Girmay afterwards. “That’s why I came to this team and I find perfect guys here. I just want to say thank you to everybody — from the start to the finish they did a perfect job.

“In the last kilometre we tried to manage it together and, honestly, we did a perfect dream job.”

The victory marks Girmay’s second win of the season and underlines the strong bond already forming within the team.

“You have to wait sometimes at the beginning of the year,” he added. “But now we already have two wins. It’s a perfect start to the season.

“It’s nice to start with this incredible teamwork. It gives us super nice motivation to work together and to build up for the biggest races.”

Despite the crashes and the tension of the final kilometres, the team executed its plan with precision, turning what could have been a dangerous and unpredictable finale into a perfectly delivered sprint.

In a race defined by positioning, resilience and composure under pressure, NSN Cycling Team proved that even in the middle of chaos, unity makes the difference — and in Almería, that unity delivered another victory.
