Ag2r-La Mondiale riders’ updated racing schedule

The team sent me this:

LAURENT BIONDI (team manager): "The entire crew of sports directors and coaches have worked together to establish a schedule that is as consistent as possible. We know it will be very dense packed and with no real break until the finish of the Vuelta, which ends on November 8. This new schedule will also allow a rider like Oliver Naesen to discover the Strade Bianche and Milan Turin, before defending his podium of last year at Milan San Remo. It also gives someone like Romain Bardet the opportunity to race on the roads of the Tour d’Occitanie, which he has not attended since 2013. Then there is the chance to take onthe Walloon classics after the Tour de France and the Worlds. The whole team is very motivated and by the time we resume racing, we hope that the pandemic infection numbers will continue to decrease. It will be an unprecedented season and we are all looking forward to returning to competition."

Astana announces the early racing program of its team leaders

Here's the team's announcement:

The management of Astana Pro Team finished creating the preliminary program of its leaders, Miguel Angel Lopez, Jakob Fuglsang and Alexey Lutsenko. Together with these riders, the Kazakh team discussed how to prepare for the main goals in the best possible way.

Miguel Angel Lopez

Miguel Angel Lopez finishes the 4th stage of the Tour of the Algarve.

This means that Miguel Angel Lopez will start the second part of the season with La Route d’Occitanie and the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge. Later, he will start in the UCI WorldTour stage race Critérium du Dauphiné before his big debut at the Tour de France.

Jakob Fuglsang will open the revised UCI calendar with the famous Italian one-day race Strade Bianche, followed by the UCI WorldTour stage race Tour de Pologne. The Dane will do two Italian classics, Gran Piemonte and Il Lombardia as well as the famous stage race Tirreno-Adriatico before coming to the Giro d’Italia as Astana Pro Team’s leader.

The Kazakh Champion Alexey Lutsenko will start this part of the season with Strade Bianche, Gran Trittico Lombardo, Milano-Torino and Milano-Sanremo. After the Italian classics, Lutsenko will join Miguel Angel Lopez at the Critérium du Dauphiné. Also, he will do the Giro dell’Emilia before coming to the Tour de France.
