Fabian Cancellara was one of the finest single-day racers of his era. He won Paris-Roubaix, Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders and E3 Harelbeke, all three times.
Plus, he tossed in Milan-San Remo, 11 Grand Tour stage wins, 4 world time trial championships, 2 Olympic gold medals and 5 major stage race wins. Extraordinary!
Cancellara's first really big win was in 2006, when he dropped his fellow breakaways to win Paris-Roubaix alone. The next few years saw Cancellara at his peak.
2015 was a rough year for Cancellara, as he was plagued with injuries. He decided to call it a career at the end of the 2016 season.
