The Race: With 61 km to go, Fabian Cancellara fell badly, ending his Tour of Flanders. On the Oude Kwaremont Alessandro Ballan initiated the move that brought Tom Boonen, Filippo Pozzato and Ballan together to make the winning break. Near the end Ballan tried to get away, but Boonen was too strong. Boonen easily won the sprint, making three Flanders victories for reborn Belgian.
